Become a
Planter
Our Process
We recruit and carefully select leaders who have the character, competency and experience to start healthy and multiplying churches in our complex context.
“Honestly, I can’t imagine planting a church without the wisdom and support we received from the Evergreen Network. Our team, our church, and our city is better because of our partnership.”

The Evergreen Process
Because we are highly selective in choosing the leaders we work with, and we desire to establish healthy and multiplying new churches that stand the test of time, we have created a multi-phased process designed to fully support leaders as they establish new churches in the Pacific Northwest.
I. Explore
The exploration phase begins with an application to get to know the candidate and determine if we would be a good fit theologically, contextually and relationally.
II. Assess
In the assessment phase we vet each candidate and spouse (if applicable) objectively through a formal three-day assessment and subjectively through relational time together with our team.
III. Prepare
The preparation phase takes between 12-18 months. We begin by helping the leader build strong partnerships with churches that will help them accomplish their vision. This external Partnership Team will help fund the vision and provide accountability and wisdom until the new church becomes self-governing and self-supporting (usually around year 5). We also begin coaching and project management right up until the new church begins holding regular gatherings.
IV. Support
Evergreen Network doesn’t end our involvement once a new church gets off the ground. We stay with them for the long-haul during what we call the support phase– providing mentoring, discipleship, networking and counseling. We want our leaders to remain healthy and their churches to become healthy, self-governing, self-supporting and multiplying churches.
