Generations Church of Eugene
Eugene, Oregon
Solomon Rexius is a 4th generation Eugenian and a lifelong Oregon Ducks fan! In fact, Sol played football for the Ducks and graduated from the University of Oregon in 2007. After spending 6 years leading a dynamic Campus Ministry at Iowa State University, Sol and his wife Lizzy (and their 4 kids) have chosen to return to Sol’s hometown to start a new church.
Eugene is a University town at its core. Every year 5,000+ students move to Eugene from all around the world to learn new skills, meet new people, and set the trajectory for the rest of their life. The Rexius’s are asking, “What if the gospel became a part of that equation?”
Sol’s vision is to establish a multi-generational church that reaches the next generation. Psalm 145 says, “One generation will declare your works to the next and will tell of your mighty acts.” In a word, that is what they want their new church to be about–– “generations.”
The core team began their work by starting a new campus ministry on the campus of University of Oregon called Salt Co. in the Fall of 2023–– part of a movement of campus ministries across the country known as Salt Network. Then in January of 2024 Generations Church held their first public services as a church believing that the best context for the discipleship of college students is a multi-generational church! And that is exactly who they have become!
