United Church
Caldwell, Idaho
The Romeros have lived in Caldwell since 2019. This bedroom community of Boise is one of the more diverse communities in the region with a large second/third generation Latino population. While the population of Caldwell has grown quite a bit in recent years there is an economic divide that also continues to grow. Recent data suggest that 75% of people living in Caldwell do not attend any type of church regularly, but data also suggests a majority of those people have a belief in “the God of the Bible.”
Mario served on staff at a local church in a neighboring community knowing he would eventually be sent out to start a new church. Now, five years later after gaining experience and training, Mario and Jamie are preparing to start a new church that will seek to unite the people of Caldwell to live out and proclaim God’s goodness through Jesus Christ—in every day life.
In January of 2025, Mario and Jamie started United Church, a micro-movement that meets in homes every Sunday in multiple locations throughout the Treasure Valley of Idaho. Each of these micro-communities gathers together once a month on “United Sundays” for a collective time of worship and teaching.
