After 8 years of ministry together in Southern, CA, Ryan and Stacie began to sense a calling to plant a new church in E Portland, OR. They moved their young family to Portland in the summer of 2025 with expectations of learning the rhythms of the city and engaging the beautiful and creative people on the East Side. A core group of committed friends that the MacDonalds have been discipling have plans to move to Portland to join them in the spring/summer of 2026.

More than 630,000 call Portland home. Most would describe themselves of unassociated with religion, but curious about the spiritual. The MacDonalds feel they are uniquely gifted to share the gospel in their new context.

Their desire is to establish a new church that helps people meet and know Jesus. A church that demonstrates how living life according to God’s design leads to abundant life and unshakeable joy. A community where people are transformed by the gospel and welcomed into a family of love for the good of their neighbors and the glory of God. A community so filled with the life and energy of Jesus that love and hope splashes out on those around them. A church that is known not only for our deep love for one another, but our compassionate care for the marginalized, lonely, and hurting.

The hope is for a new church to launch sometime in 2027.
